Event description

It’s that time again to put down the markers, step away from that disobedient CAD file, and wrap that concept presentation up so we can all catch up for the next Industrial Design Xchange event: Celebrating World Industrial Design Day.

This year’s theme? Let’s Get Ethical.

Join us as we celebrate with another one-of-a-kind show & tell night—this time diving into the messy, meaningful space where design meets ethics.

We’re inviting you to reflect, respond, and bring an object that tells a story.

Bring an object, material sample, image, or prototype, or even a note from a project that made you stop and think.

The realm of ethics is vast, complex, and personal. To guide the evening, we’ve layed out some themes to explore:

Ethics; Power

Ethics; Responsibility

Ethics; Transparency

Ethics; Consent

Ethics; Repair

Ethics; Compromise

Together we’ll create an interactive gallery installation that surfaces the quiet (and loud) ethics code we tackle as designers.

Come contribute to the collective conversation, hear from others, and raise a glass to ethics in action.

Join us at Willie the Boatman in St Peters, to meet up with friends and colleagues and celebrate our growing industrial design community.

Tickets include pizza and a drink on arrival.

IDX is deeply committed to creating inclusive events that reflect the diversity of our members and the industrial design community. We believe in making sure that all voices are heard, especially those that have been historically underrepresented in the design industry. Considerations for diversity include, but are not limited to, race, ethnicity, nationality, gender and expression, age, career-level, religion, ability, and sexual orientation. We want everyone to feel comfortable and valued in our community and at our events.
