IDX SYD - Social Sketch Walk
Event description
IDX SYD - Social Sketch Walk
Join us for a collective exploration of Sydney’s Botanical Gardens, connecting through movement, observation, and sketching. This time, we’re trying something different, something active, creative, and social. This is an open, community-led experience where we slow down, tune into our surroundings, and capture moments through observation and drawing.
What to Expect
This three-hour walk & sketch session is designed to encourage both creative expression and connection.
📍 Meeting Point – 1 PM, in front of the new building of the Art Gallery of NSW (Art Gallery Road)
🚶 Route – We’ll weave through the Botanical Gardens, pausing at various locations to sketch architecture, sculptures, and nature.
🌿 Final Stop – Bennelong Lawn, overlooking Sydney Harbour.
There are plenty of great pubs and restaurants nearby for those who wish to continue hanging out after the event.
What to Bring
Please bring your drawing medium of choice. We will provide regular paper, pens, pencils and sunscreen.
Wet Weather
This event is outdoors and subject to weather conditions. If a severe weather warning is issued, the walk will be moved to an indoor location where we’ll sketch indoors. Please bring wet weather gear in case of light rain.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
