An intercultural on Country retreat for women moving into the next chapter of life.

Guwiyal (Dunghutti for fire or flame) is a Country-centred retreat, providing an immersive experience for women who’ve dedicated decades to work & family, & are now seeking a meaningful, transformative experience to shape their future.

In March 2025, join highly experienced facilitators Carol Vale & Michelle Howard on beautiful Gumbayngirr/Anaiwan Country as they share their experiences & passion for working interculturally & building capacity for change & together create an experience that nourishes your sense of purpose & reignites your inner fire.

Your workshop package includes:

· Interactive program from 3pm Friday – 1pm Sunday facilitated by Carol & Michelle.

· Walk on Country & hands on cultural activities.

· Lunch Saturday & Sunday.

· Dinner Friday & Saturday nights.


Workshop package cost: $990 (incl GST)

Transport to Armidale, accommodation & alcohol will be at your own expense.


The Facilitators

Carol Vale is a Dunghutti entrepreneur, Indigenous Businesswoman of the Year, CEO, empathetic & visionary leader, & co-founder of Murawin. Carol’s passion, determination & commitment have driven her impressive 40-year career as a specialist in complex systems change particularly in working with First Nations communities & stakeholders. Carol specialises in working with others across a broad range of industries to enhance their organisational capacity through social research, stakeholder engagement & evaluation services. She provides practical tools & professional services to her clients that are culturally sensitive, & outcome focused & reflect her experience (including three decades in the public sector), history & culture.

Michelle Howard is a Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia & an internationally accredited facilitator & strategic planner. Born on Palawa Country, Michelle has worked with Indigenous colleagues & friends since 1988 to integrate a stronger cultural narrative & voice in art, planning & design projects. As Managing Director of Collaborations, she has worked on planning, design & infrastructure projects across Australia for the past 30 years. Michelle’s skills in stakeholder engagement, strategic planning & managing complex issues of change, have been sought after by public, private & not-for-profit organisations. Michelle is an experienced trainer & mentor within the urban planning & community engagement sectors.
