Day 1: Foundations and Practical Skills

Morning Session (4 hours)

  • Introduction to Carpet Cleaning (1 hour)

    • Overview of IICRC standards and CCT certification benefits.

    • Carpet industry insights: construction, fibers (synthetics, wool), and CRI 105 standards.

  • Carpet Fiber Identification (1.5 hours)

    • Hands-on practice identifying fibers and understanding their cleaning implications.

    • Common challenges with fiber types and how to address them.

  • Cleaning Principles and Chemistry (1.5 hours)

    • Five principles of professional carpet cleaning.

    • Introduction to cleaning agents, pH, and their effects on carpets.

Day 2: Advanced Techniques and Certification Prep

    • Step-by-step residential cleaning process with real-world scenarios.

  • Deodorization and Protectors (1.5 hours)

    • Techniques for odor removal and damage mitigation.

    • Applying protectors to enhance carpet longevity and upsell opportunities.

Lunch Break (1 hour)

Afternoon Session (4 hours)

  • Business and Customer Service Skills (1.5 hours)

    • Strategies to "wow" customers and build repeat business.

    • Marketing cleaning services for higher profits.

  • IICRC CCT Exam Preparation (2 hours)

    • Review of key concepts: fibers, cleaning methods, and stain treatments.

IICRC Certification

To earn certification, students must pass the certification exam, which is available for an additional fee paid directly to the IICRC.

Students must visit www.iicrc.org to register online and submit the exam fee before or on the first day of class.

Please keep a copy of your payment confirmation or have the means to log in at the end of the scheduled class to report to the instructor once exam registration is complete. You will need to provide proof of registration to complete the exam on the last day of training. Please get in touch with the IICRC with any questions regarding this process.
