The Floor Care Technician (FCT) certification is an introductory-level certification that covers the cleaning industry’s best practices, principles, theories, methodology, and procedures to perform routine, periodic, and restorative cleaning and maintenance of hard surface flooring.

Upon achieving the certification, you demonstrate that you have the knowledge to identify flooring materials, composition, construction, properties, characteristics, and how they impact cleaning and maintenance.

Target Audience: In-house janitorial staff, cleaning professionals, independent technicians, and flooring installers in commercial, institutional, and residential settings. Beginners and experienced cleaners seeking IICRC FCT certification.

GEM Supply will provide all training materials—no open-toe shoes for hands-on participation.

Class Format Notice: This class will be offered in a hybrid format. If enrollment does not meet the minimum by the registration deadline, Robert Falzone will teach the class via live stream instead of traveling to Orlando. Students may participate online, and those who want the hands-on experience with Dave/Robert may still attend at our Orlando training facility. If you need to travel, we recommend choosing refundable or transferable reservations.

Prerequisites: None. Open to all skill levels.

• This class requires minimum enrollment and may be rescheduled or canceled if enrollment requirements are not met or circumstances beyond our control arise.

• We recommend waiting until 14 days before the class begins to purchase airfare, lodging, or other travel arrangements. Whenever possible, choose refundable or changeable reservations. If purchasing travel earlier, consider travel insurance and confirm directly with the provider what circumstances are covered.

• The Academy of Cleaning Excellence and GEM Supply are not responsible for airfare, lodging, transportation, cancellation fees, or other travel-related expenses resulting from a class cancellation, rescheduling, or location change. Registration fees will be handled according to the cancellation and refund policy stated for this event.

IICRC certification is available upon passing the exam. Cost: $80, payable to IICRC at the time of testing.

Parking is Limited, so come early for the best spot. Doors open at 8 AM.

IICRC Certification

To earn certification, students must pass the certification exam, which is available for an additional fee paid directly to the IICRC.

Students must visit www.iicrc.org to register online and submit the exam fee before or on the first day of class.

Please keep a copy of your payment confirmation or have a way to log in at the end of the scheduled class so you can report to the instructor once you complete exam registration. You will need to provide proof of registration to complete the exam on the last day of training. Please contact the IICRC with any questions about this process.
