Ikat Sisterhood Circle @ Vivacious Living Centre
Event description
IKAT SISTERHOOD CIRCLE
Circle focus: The shift from 'doing' to 'being'.
In the presence of silence, does your mind tend to drift?
If so, where does it take you? The state of your relationships, health or finances? Never-ending to-do lists or chores? Exams or your next work project?
How draining can this be, to constantly live in anything but the present moment?
Many of us crave peace, but so often find ourselves ruminating on what has or hasn't been done, the many choices or decisions that lie ahead, or the need to control or perfect whatever is actually in front of us.
In modern life, it's so easy to get lost in the restless, never-ending state of doing instead of just being.
These moments of pausing, and ceasing to do, even if it's just for a moment, can be extremely hard and even agonizing for some.
We live in a world where we so often hear messages of the need to do more, but we can easily miss the yearning of our body, mind, and soul to rest and just be.
This act of shifting from the doing to the being becomes a constant choice — or even, a fight.
So how do we go about making this shift?
This is the focus of our next Ikat Sisterhood Circle.
- We will come together in a safe space to explore the deeper cause/s that affect so many of us
- We will release the “ANTs” (automatic negative thoughts) that often plague our thoughts and mind
- We will gift ourselves some sacred time and opportunity for healing to simply BE.
'Ikat' (pronounced 'ee-kat') means 'to bind' in bahasa and refers to the ancient traditions from Indonesia and India of textile weaving. With it also referring to Anita, Renee & TIna's heritage, In our circle we will come together to weave and bind our stories and share our gifts as a community to create new paths and patterns of beauty and wonder.
The circle will include:
* Clearing energies and deep connection activity
* Guided meditation
* Restorative Sound Bath & Reiki energy
* Journaling & Reflection
* Light snacks, refreshing herbal tea

Sound Bath
Through a combination of rhythm, vibration, melody and tone, Anita will create a sonorous soundscape with her carefully chosen instruments, vocals and intuitive musicality while you lie down in stillness and serenity.
Reiki & what to expect
Reiki means universal life energy and is a hands on practice transferring energy for relaxation and healing. It is a gentle complementary therapy and it is common to become sleepy receiving reiki, experience tummy rumbles or sometimes release some tears and/or emotion. However in this mini treatment, you can most likely expect to experience deeper relaxation and receptivity to the sound healing. If you prefer the reiki element as non contact, please let us know on entering the session. It is important that you feel comfortable. Please hydrate after the session as reiki triggers your body's natural healing process and water and herbal teas will assist in detoxification.
Parking
Free Parking is available in front of the centre.
This will be a wonderful journey and space to encourage connection with ourselves, and others.
We can't wait for you to join us.
With care and gratitude
Anita, Renee & Tina
