This workshop is for aspiring designers as a starting point for those wishing to develop their illustration skills.
Level: Beginner (no experience required)
Minimum age: 15 years old
This workshop is for aspiring designers and recommended as a starting point for those wishing to develop their illustration skills. In this 3-day workshop, you will gain an understanding of how to illustrate with Marker and Paper, experiment with different multi-media materials as well as finalise these works into a entry level portfolio.
Students have the option to only study Day 1 and focus on Fashion Illustration. Students who continue on to Day 2 and 3 will focus on advanced illustration skills and portfolio development.
The workshop focuses on the following areas of skill development:
Day 1
- Fashion illustration techniques and methods
- Application of pencils, professional markers, and felt-tip pens for professional rendering
- Fabric texture and surface rendering
- Exploring an individual design aesthetic.
Days 2 and 3:
- One-point perspective and lifestyle illustration
- Still life illustration and techniques
- Moodboard ideation
- Translating a moodboard into a final design concept and illustration
- Compiling your portfolio
At the end of this workshop, you will have covered illustration content ready for an application to study a creative degree and receive a certificate of completion.
Resources will be provided for you, however please bring the following to participate:
HB lead pencil, Eraser, Sharpener, Glue Stick, Scissors, Ruler, Coloured Pencils/ Markers, Black Fine Liner
