Imagined Futures
Event description
"We are living in the imaginaries of those long gone before us, one day people will be living in the imaginaries we've created' - Angela Davis
Our futures are already being constructed by those in power. Futures that attempt to individualise us and encourage us to look after ourselves, futures that feed us colonial fictions that Tangata Whenua receive privileges, futures that are only interested in our economic value as workers. Such futures do not encourage us to care for one another, encourage us to recognise that all our stuggles against oppression are connected, futures that do not encourage us to consider Te Tiriti O Waitangi as central in protecting us all.
Come and join us for a hopeful and inspiring afternoon.
Hear from our panelists who are already building alternative infrastructures with others that seek to care for one another.
We are delighted to confirm
