Immersive Practice Sharing with Eliza Sanders
Event description
QL2 Dance presents an immersive practice sharing with Eliza Sanders, supported by Ausdance ACTÂ
Independent dance artist Eliza Sanders is returning to her hometown of Kamberri (Canberra) in July-August, to premiere her work Manage Your Expectations at the Canberra Theatre Centre.Â
For the past two years, Eliza has been working in Korea, recently premiering Resisting Resistance at the Busan International Dance Festival.Â
QL2 Dance is thrilled to host an event in two parts, where Eliza will share her practice – focused on her experience working in Korea – with the Canberra community.Â
When: Sunday 28 July 2024Â
Where: QL2 Studio, Gorman Arts Centre Â
What: Workshop and Q&AÂ
- 11:00am-1:00pm - Workshop for professional dancers and experienced dancers aged 16+Â
- 1:30pm-3:00pm - Informal performance and Q&A open to those attending the workshop and the general public
PART 1: WORKSHOP - For professional and pre-professional dancers (16+), until 1:00pm
A choreographic workshop with Eliza exploring/experiencing her choreographic methods, accumulating in learning repertoire from her work Resisting Resistance. Please note: The repertoire is physically virtuosic and requires a high level of training in contemporary dance.
PART 2: BEHIND THE SCENES SHARING and Q&A - Open to all, from 1:30pm
This session will begin with a short, informal performance, followed by a conversation with Emma Batchelor about Eliza’s experience in Korea - the delicacies of international collaboration, festival commissions and choreographic practice.
