  Professor Erica Wood will chair the webinar and provide an introduction to the OPTIMAL Centre of Research Excellence (CRE), Australia's national research program focused on optimising immunoglobulin (Ig) use and improving patient outcomes. She will outline the aims of the CRE, current research activities, and the importance of generating evidence to support equitable, sustainable and evidence-based use of Ig across Australia.

  Cynthia will present an overview of the European SUPPLY project, examining how major immunoglobulin-using countries across Europe are responding to Ig shortages through national management plans, prioritisation strategies, data collection approaches, and communication frameworks. Her presentation will also explore barriers to collecting real-world immunoglobulin utilisation data and discuss what Australia may learn from international approaches to constrained immunoglobulin supply.

  Dr Laura Fanning - Senior Research Fellow, OPTIMAL CRE and Centre for Health Economics, Monash University, Australia

  Laura will present emerging findings from a discrete choice experiment (DCE) study examining patient preferences for infection prophylaxis in blood cancers. Her talk will explore how patients weigh factors such as infection risk, treatment burden, convenience, and access to care when making decisions about infection prevention, and how patient-centred preference data may help inform more equitable and sustainable immunoglobulin use.
