Impact Boss Virtual Launch
Event description
You’re invited to the launch of Impact Boss - a new social entreprise education initiative by Young Change Agents in partnership with Who Gives A Crap.
Join two of Australia’s leading social entrepreneurs - Jehan Ratnatunga, Co-Founder & VP of Strategy at Who Gives A Crap, and Margaret O’Brien, Co-Founder & Executive Director of Young Change Agents - for an inspiring conversation about how social enterprise can shape the next generation of changemakers.
Jehan and Margaret will share personal stories from their entrepreneurial journeys - the early challenges, the big lessons, and what continues to motivate them to build businesses that do good. Together, they’ll reflect on what it means to lead with purpose and why social entrepreneurship is one of the most powerful tools for solving real-world problems.
You’ll hear the remarkable story of how Who Gives A Crap grew from a cheeky crowdfunding stunt to a global brand that’s donated over $18 million to improve sanitation worldwide - and how the company is now partnering with Young Change Agents, a leader in youth entrepreneurial education that has reached over 195,000 young people to date.
Through their collaboration, Jehan and Margaret are launching Impact Boss - where proven entrepreneurial education meets real-world inspiration. Impact boss takes the full startup story of Who Gives A Crap - from a bold idea to a global brand with global impact- and integrated it into Young Change Agents' tried-and-tested Explorer and YINC programs. This unique combination gives students a front-row seat to the realities of launching a social enterprise, then supports them to do it themselves
“Together we’re looking to supercharge social entrepreneurship education around the world,” says Jehan Ratnatunga. “Entrepreneurship is a powerful tool for creating change - and young people bring the bold ideas we need most.”
“We know that role-modelling what’s possible inspires young people to act,” adds Margaret O’Brien. “Who Gives A Crap shows that a simple, fun idea can grow into a movement - and that’s exactly the kind of thinking we want students to experience through Impact Boss.”
The event will be hosted by Global champion for social enterprise Tom Dawkins, Founder of StartsomeGood and LendForGood.
You’ll also hear from Renae Jones, Acting CEO and National Educator-in-Residence at Young Change Agents, who will introduce the program and give you a preview of the modules, the Entrepreneurial Learning Hub and Young Change Agents newly launched Global Credential in Entrepreneurial Education (validated by the University of Melbourne).
Come along if you’re:
a customer or fan of Who Gives A Crap and/or Young Change Agents!
an educator or parent interested in preparing young people for the future;
an ally of youth entrepreneurship or social enterprise in general; or
a business leader or policy maker passionate about social impact, social enterprise and/or innovation.
