Event description

Melbourne School of Government and Apricot Consulting would like to welcome you to the Implementation of Social Procurement in Transport Infrastructure Seminar. The seminar is an informal networking event held in person at the Melbourne Law School in partnership with Apricot Consulting.

 As Victoria’s Social Procurement Framework matures, we are entering an implementation phase. The seminar would provide a chance for industry, procurement managers in the public sector and researchers to hear about the state of social procurement implementation as it relates to Victoria’s major transport infrastructure programs. There will be a short panel discussion, Q&A and plenty of time for networking.

The focus for the seminar:

  • the objectives of the Victorian Social Procurement Framework and the role of social procurement in Victoria’s infrastructure projects;
  • the journey thus far and what government and industry have achieved together; and
  • the challenges ahead in further implementing social procurement.

The panel discussion will be hosted by Geoff Gourley, Director of ESG at Apricot Consulting and Warren Staples, Lecture in Social Procurement at Melbourne School of Government. On the panel:

- Hayden Heta, Managing Director at Wamarra

- Kylie Adeniyi, Acting Director, Social Value and Inclusion at Major Road Projects Victoria

- Vincent Sully, Principal Policy Officer, Social Procurement and Enterprise Branch at Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions

-  Iris Stewart, Industry Director of Transport for SA, Vic and Tas at Aurecon

This is a free event. Alcoholic beverages and light refreshments will be provided.
