Improv Leeds - Foundation & Open Play in Headingley
Description
Welcome to improvisation for thoughtful grown-ups - free from pressure to perform, be fast, funny or clever. Come improvise comedy, drama and theatre for more confidence, joy and connection in life.
This foundation and open play session is open to all levels, including curious newcomers, or if you have some familiarity with improv. Discover improvisation and begin your journey here.
For expanding and growing your improv beyond foundations, try our sister event in city centre here.
That means there’ll be slower explanations, simple games, and a leisurely, gradual entry into fuller improvised scenes. As always - everything is an invitation. Play at your own pace.
Every game is optional and you’ll be supported throughout by a professional facilitator. You’re expected to bring a level of basic adult robustness - that means tracking yourself, your limits and general wellbeing. Please be fully in or fully out of an activity.
This is a workshop, rather than a formal class or taught lesson (though we will explore improv themes and principles). That means you’re invited to get involved in practical games and activities that involve movement, play and mingling.
