The Department of Health is holding a series of webinars to share information about the aged care reforms announced in the 2021-22 Budget and in response to the Aged Care Royal Commission.

These webinars are an opportunity for anyone who uses or needs aged care, who works in aged care or who has an interest in improving aged care in Australia to learn more about the reforms.

Webinars will include presentations from the Hon Greg Hunt MP, Minister for Health and Aged Care, and Senator the Hon Richard Colbeck, Minister for Senior Australians and Aged Care Services, as well as presentations and panel discussions by senior officials from the Department of Health.

Improving outcomes for people in aged care from CALD backgrounds

This webinar is for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities and the aged care workers and providers who deliver services to them.

Aged care reforms include changes and initiatives to improve the accessibility of and outcomes for people receiving aged care services from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

Find out how the reforms will help to:

  • improve access to information for senior Australians and their families and carers who speak a language other than English
  • improve access to services and advocacy for senior Australians from CALD backgrounds
  • enhance the way the workforce provides services to people from CALD backgrounds.

We’ll also ask you questions about how we can best work with aged care providers, the workforce, families, carers and people from CALD backgrounds to make positive changes.
