Ed Goyer & Kelvin Haisman

Two distinctive Australian jazz musicians come together for an evening of improvisation, rhythm and musical conversation.

Ed Goyer is one of Australia’s most versatile jazz musicians — a vibraphonist, percussionist, pianist and composer whose career has moved freely between jazz, Latin music, contemporary composition and improvisation. Kelvin Haisman is a jazz pianist and teacher who has travelled the world with his music and is well known on the Sydney jazz scene as a session player.

Ed has performed and recorded with leading Australian musicians including Jenny Morris, Ed Kuepper, John Morrison and Gai Bryant, and was a member of the ARIA-nominated band CODA. His playing has taken him from the Sydney Opera House and City Recital Hall to WOMAD and festivals across Australia.

He is also the driving force behind Polymorphic Orkestra, an acclaimed ensemble creating spontaneous, electro-acoustic music from vibraphone, percussion, electronics and improvisation.

For this concert, Ed brings that breadth of experience to the vibraphone alongside Australian jazz pianist Kelvin, in a meeting of two highly individual musicians.

Expect great jazz, spontaneous musical exchanges and plenty of surprises.

Chairs and rugs are available, but we encourage you to bring your own just in case. Numbers are limited to ensure that the event can go ahead regardless of the weather (usual seating is on the lawn; we move inside with rain).
