Emerging Technology in Lubrication
Lubrication conditions are arguably the most important factor in determining whether rotating equipment assets will perform and achieve their intended design life. In a world where sustainability is a greater focus than ever, Lubrication Improvement can have a significant impact both in terms of asset life extension and reducing the consumption of hydrocarbons and associated waste.Â
New and Emerging Technologies in lubrication offer strong enablers for changing the way lubrication is managed. In our workgroup, we will review a several New and Emerging Technologies in both Grease and Oil Based Lubrication, present case studies on their successful implementation and peek into what the future might hold. The technologies covered include lubrication inspection tools, lubrication condition monitoring, online sensing technologies and intelligent lubrication systems.
We're excited to have GVS Managing Director Braham Breytenbach leading the conversation by addressing the following Lubrication Approaches and Technologies:
- Why Lubrication Matters?
- Predictive Maintenance applied to Lubrication.
- Grease Based Lubrication Technologies: Automated Lubrication, Grease Sampling, Ultrasound Monitoring Technologies, Lubrication Management Systems, Intelligent Automated Lubrication Systems
- Oil Based Lubrication: Storage, Sampling and Condition Monitoring, Online Sensor Technologies
- Case Study references where applicable
Following Braham's presentation we will have question time and Breakout Room discussions around the following:
- Barriers to the adoption of improved lubrication practice?
- Technology with the greatest potential to transform the industry?
- What synergies exist between emerging and existing technologies?
- How do we lift the profile of lubrication improvement work?
Braham Breytenbach - Managing Director : GVS Reliability Products
