Applied Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)

A SIRF IMRt Common Interest Work Group (CIWG)! Free for SIRF Members! Not a Member? Contact us today!

This is an Online event via Zoom.

Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) is a process that ensures maintenance tasks are performed in an efficient, cost-effective, reliable, and safe manner. Maintenance tasks may be preventive, predictive, or involve nondestructive inspections in order to identify or monitor flaws.

RCM is one component of a comprehensive cradle-to-grave asset integrity management program. Likewise, an effective RCM program is one that will document the entire process throughout the system, equipment, or component life-cycle for every asset in the facility. The purpose of RCM is to ensure maintenance and inspection tasks are centered around improving the reliability and safety of equipment.

In this event we will have Clive Moore from M2H who will be presenting on the Principles of RCM and then this will be followed by Benjamin Gloster from Goulburn Murray Water who will present a project in GMW where they used RCM.

Please join us to hear and learn about Reliability Centered Maintenance as will as network with others in break out rooms.

Clive Moore - Managing Director, M2H - Asset Performance Management

Since 2012 Clive has been a consultant and advisor for asset and capital intensive industries to meet or improve their business objectives.
Prior to this he worked with ABB as Technical Services Manager, PBR as Manufacturing Engineering Manager and with Silcar (Siemens Asset Management JV) as the Manager National Business development.

Clive will be presenting on the principles of RCM and how this will progress into the future.

“ Are we there yet , a phrase that many of us are familiar with.

With decades of experience and broad industry acceptance of RCM, as users do have we a level of confidence that as users we have all stakeholders on board?

Have we created a digital knowledge tool that can be understood and used by plant asset technicians, or are we drowning them in data and how do we validate that we are adding value not complexity? “

Benjamin Gloster - Maintenance Engineer, Goulburn Murray Water

Benjamin has been working within Goulburn-Murray Waters Electrical and Mechanical Services team for over 5 years and is currently in the role of Maintenance Engineer.

Goulburn Murray Water have been slowly applying their knowledge of RCM over a number of years. In particularly focusing on GMW’s fleet of just under 6,000 automated gates which control the flow and delivery of water in GMW’s channels. These gates are made up of both electrical and mechanical components, each with their own unique function, failure modes and consequences. GMW would like to share the beginning of their journey into applying RCM.

Come, learn and share with others.
