Description

Planning and Executing a Successful Outage to meet your Asset Strategy and Reliability targets.

Planning and executing a successful outage starts long before the plant comes offline. It begins with a clear understanding of asset plans and plant system maintenance strategies. Detailed asset maintenance strategies set the scene for work scopes and outage duration based on critical path activities and the timing for outages for the life of the asset.

This presentation will give an overview of the outage planning and execution process from strategy alignment and scope development through to delivery and performance review. While there is no one-size-fits-all approach to major shutdowns, the outage framework used at Loy Yang B Power Station has evolved over many years through continuous improvement and real-world experience.

Attendees will gain insight into proven planning practices, common pitfalls to avoid, and the key success factors that increase the probability of success. The session will also highlight the importance of engaging the right stakeholders and measuring performance across critical dimensions such as safety, schedule, cost, and asset performance.

Join this session to learn practical lessons and proven approaches that will help you improve outage outcomes, reduce risk, and ensure shutdowns deliver lasting value against your asset strategy and reliability goals.
