IMRt Masterclass | Future-Ready Corrosion Management: Integrating RBI, IIoT, and Sustainability
Description
This talk presents a holistic, future-focused corrosion management framework where RBI, IIoT, and sustainability combine to improve reliability, safety, and environmental performance. A tank case study highlights real-world gains including 5× asset life, reduced maintenance costs, and increased plant throughput.
Competent corrosion management is an inherently sustainable practice. It enhances safety, reduces maintenance costs, and increases availability and throughput of processing plants. Future-Ready Corrosion Management: Integrating RBI, IIoT, and Sustainability reviews modern corrosion management practices, focusing on the development of systematic, integrated RBI processes for fixed assets and the expanding role of digital tools, IIoT technologies, and predictive methodologies in maintaining asset integrity.
The session highlights sustainable optimization strategies for process plant assets, showing how structured sustainability measures can simultaneously improve operational reliability and environmental performance. Together, these elements present a holistic, future-focused framework for long-term corrosion and asset management.
Using tanks as a case study, in this talk you will learn;
How to achieve a 5× Increase in Asset Life
Field data has demonstrated that the system extends the service life of hydrometallurgical process tank components by up to fivefold, significantly reducing replacement frequency.Enhanced Safety
Real-time insights reduce the likelihood of tank failures, leaks, or integrity-related incidents.Reduced Maintenance Costs
Predictive monitoring enables planned interventions rather than reactive repairs, lowering overall maintenance expenditure.Higher Plant Availability & Throughput
By preventing unplanned downtime, the system directly contributes to increased operational uptime and production efficiency.Data-Driven Risk Reduction
Visibility into corrosion progression allows operators to strategically allocate capital, prioritise high-risk assets, and reduce site-wide integrity risk.Improved Reporting & Compliance
Automated dashboards and audit-ready data simplify reporting and ensure alignment with integrity, regulatory, and ESG expectations.
