In statistics and psychometric reliability is the overall consistency of a measure.  A measure is said to have high reliability if it produces similar results under consistent conditions.  The characteristics of a set of test scores that give information of the amount of random error from the measurement process.  Scores that are highly reliable are said to be precise, reproducible and consistent from one test to another.

We have experts in their field presenting ways to get more effectiveness in plant, thus improving reliability.  Our presenters will go through actual examples as well as the variety of situations that can come about when you drive those improvements to great effect. 

Sandy Dunn

Managing Director at Assetivity

Sandy is the founder and Managing Director of Assetivity, one of Australia’s most respected Maintenance, Reliability and Asset Management consultancies.

He has almost 40 years’ experience in helping organisations improve the productivity of their people and their equipment through more effective Maintenance and Asset Management.  He has extensive experience within a wide range of industry sectors.  His experience has been gained in Australia, Southeast Asia, North and South America, Africa and Europe in senior line management positions as well as in senior consulting roles with many of the world’s largest blue-chip. 

Sandy holds an Honours Degree in Industrial Engineering and an MBA and, in the past has been an Adjunct lecturer in Asset Management at the University of Western Australia, a member of the SMRP Best Practices committee, and a Commissioner of the Asset Management Council in Australia. 

Prior to founding Assetivity, Sandy worked for PriceWaterhouseCoopers, AMEC, Jason Industries, FedEx and Alcoa in a variety of line management and advisory roles.

Craig Johnson

Mechanical engineer with substantial experience in the resources sector. Knowledgeable in production critical rotating equipment, hydraulic & lubrication systems, process pumps, valves, engineered packages & project delivery.

Craig will discuss technologies and techniques available to address varnish and sludge build-up in lubrication systems of critical rotating equipment.  Craig has had the privilege of working with many of the largest global filtration companies and applies effective and practical solutions to address lubrication breakdown.

Engage Marine is a leading provider of integrated marine services with multiple operations throughout Australia leading change in the way marine services are delivered.

My working life has exposed me to various industries where I have gained valuable knowledge and life lessons, it has influenced the way I conduct myself as a leader and the importance of hard work and honesty.

The past 12 years I have focused on a career in the maritime industry, starting off working on vessels in capacity of 1st/Chief Engineer before transitioning to a shore role in 2016. I have held a numerous positions exposing me to all aspects of the towage industry with a strong focus on asset management and maintenance reliability.

I will present past examples of working history that has driven me to the reliability of assets to gain maximum benefit instead of maximum fixes to keep them operational.

Roundtable Events like this one are where we get our name from, and they are organised around a topic or theme. Several speakers will present for approximately 45 minutes, with a time period for questions. During the event our expert facilitators will also conduct short roundtable discussions on different aspects or parts of the topic/theme throughout the day.
