Energy productivity - For most companies Energy is one of the fastest growing costs in the business and is typically in the top 5 costs. There is more technology available now than at any other time in our history to enable us to monitor and improve our energy use.

Jarrod Leak - CEO at Australian Alliance for Energy Productivity (A2EP)


Jarrod is a leader in energy and carbon management with a degree in Chemical Engineering and is presenting on what is Best Practice and beyond.

Jarrod is the CEO of The Australian Alliance for Energy Productivity. The focus of the Alliance is to double Australia's energy productivity by 2030 (2XEP). A2EP is also known for its Summer Studies, Summits and more recently Innovation XChanges on Energy Productivity.

Andy Fitzgerald, Electrical Principal, Melbourne Water - Asset Management

Andy has been working at Melbourne Water (MW) for over 14 Years.
He is stakeholder supporting the construction and implementation of a new Solar Farm project for Eastern Treatment Plant (ETP) and was also previously involved with the implementation of the ETP BioGas Engines. 

Andy will be presenting how MW have provided the Electrical Supply system at ETP including the Bio Gas Engines and the soon to be implemented Solar Farm to meet the plant requirements while reducing MW carbon emissions and generating more renewable energy.

The BioGas Engines, which produce 30% of the plants annual power needs, use the process gas as a fuel to produce electricity for the plant via the connected generators as well as providing heat for the digestors and other plant requirements.
The new Solar Farm will produce an additional 22% of the plants annual power needs.

Satinder Sahni - Group Senior Manager - Utilities, Asahi Beverages

Satinder is a mechanical engineer by profession and has over 20 years of experience in the field of plant engineering , plant general management , capex management and predominantly worked in the area of energy & water conservation.

He has been with the organization for over 10 years and is currently responsible for driving Energy (Electricity + Fuel usage) , Water (Fresh water, recycled water & Effluent discharge optimization) , and Co2 gas regeneration for 11 plants (Alcohol + Non-Alcohol) across Australia & New Zealand.

The above areas of remit leads to both cost and environmental goals achievement for Asahi Beverages Australia. Asahi has a high focus on Co2 emissions and it sits at top 5 Supply Chain KPI targets.
