Karl S. Williams has a one-of-a-kind voice that shakes the building and the heartstrings - and sounds about a thousand years old.
Moving easily between guitar, piano and banjo, his songs are steeped in blues, gospel and old time music with poetic sensibilities that call to mind the classic singer-songwriters of yesteryear. Karl proudly traces his bloodlines (“a colonial cocktail” as he calls it) to the Butchulla and Darug people of Australia’s First Nations. This deep connection to the landscape of his homeland pervades his work and infuses it with a spirituality that is older than time.
