Event description

Join artist Ellis D Fogg (Roger Foley) in conversation with Light Source curators Martyn Jolly and Tony Oates, as he recalls the burgeoning lightshows of Sydney’s 1960s art-scene that centred around the Yellow House, Albie Thoms handmade films, Viv Binn’s WOOM, the counter-culture movement and artistic ‘happenings’.

Roger Foley, better known as Ellis D Fogg, is recognised for his special effects, public performances and light installations. Ellis D Fogg began producing psychedelic lightshows utilising light sculpture and lumino kinetics in the 60s.  His shows have drawn on collaborations with many different musical genres, from rock bands, to classical, experimental, jazz and modern dance groups including work with composer Peter Sculthorpe and the Sydney and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras. He has built a reputation as a pioneering producer of large-scale light events and theatrical productions featuring lumino kinetics.
