Event description

On 23 July, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) will deliver an historic Advisory Opinion on the Obligations of States in respect of Climate Change.

Alofipo So’oalo Fleur Ramsay played an integral role at the ICJ case, supporting Samoa’s submission to the case as external legal counsel, as well as working with Blue Ocean Law, a Guam based Indigenous-led law firm, representing Vanuatu and Melanesian Spearhead Group. Alofipo travelled around Melanesia collecting testimony from communities who are facing devastation from climate change.

In this webinar, Alofipo will share her perspective on the submissions made to the ICJ in this landmark legal case. This is a very timely conversation in light of the ICJ decision.
