When best-selling author Holly Ringland was approached to write a poem in response to Morag Myerscough’s BEACON installation it was a full circle moment. ‘With a Light Left On’ is a phrase that many fans will recognise from Holly’s popular Substack series, The Joy Rise, and her 2023 book on creativity and courage, The House That Joy Built. A new poem of the same title has now been arranged in an uplifting song to be performed at BLEACH Festival. Join us for an insightful conversation about collaboration, creative synchronicities and why ‘With a Light Left On’ is such a powerful beacon for hope and connection.

ARTIST BIO
Holly is an international best-selling author and TV presenter for ABC’s Back to Nature.
She is best known for her 2018 novel The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, which won the 2019 General Fiction Book of the Year Award, and was adapted into a television miniseries in 2023.
Holly grew on the Gold Coast and returned home in 2020 after living abroad. In addition to her best-selling fictions Holly regularly writes & speaks on topics of belonging & creativity. In 2023, she authored her first non-fiction The House The Joy Built, and has recently published her newest book The World Beneath Her Feet.
Everybody NOW! has commissioned Holly to write a new poem in response to Morag’s BEACON installation. Her work With A Light Left On will be performed by a 200 person choir as part of the 2026 BLEACH Festival.
