Early Childhood Australia, South Australia, The Early Childhood Organisation of South Australia, Nature Play SA and the Preschool Directors Association of South Australia are proud to launch another collaborative project: Reclaiming What Matters in Early Childhood.
Over the course of the collaborative project that will extend into 2023, we are coming together to plan a series of online professional learning sessions that will have a strong focus on the five domains of child development from the Australian Early Development Census:
• physical health and wellbeing
• social competence
• emotional maturity
• language and cognitive skills (school-based)
• communication skills and general knowledge.
Join us in welcoming Hugh Mackay to discuss the following:
- Aspects of human nature, especially our innate capacity for kindness and co-operation, that have been somewhat marginalised by the pressure of social changes pushing us in the opposite direction, towards becoming a more competitive and individualistic society
- The effects of these social changes and how they might be helpful as a way of reframing the challenge we face in helping to develop the full human potential of all children being raised in this potentially damaging culture
- Reflect on the possibilities and opportunities to learn some important lessons from our responses to the pandemic: “Never waste a crisis!”
