Her compassionate yet decisive leadership led to swift gun law reform, the creation of the Christchurch Call to Eliminate Violent Extremism Online and one of the lowest pandemic death rates in the developed world.

A champion of women’s empowerment and social equity, she advanced pay equity legislation, extended paid parental leave and oversaw historic representation of women in Parliament.
