Join us for an in conversation with authors Pip Harry & Sandy Bigna who will be discussing their recent foray into verse novels and explore techniques used in this writing format.

Pip will also talk about her upcoming releases, a YA novel in verse, Drift and two new picture books!

There will be an opportunity for Q&A before the conclusion of the event.

About Pip Harry

Pip Harry is an Australian author, copywriter and journalist. Her middle grade novel The Little Wave won the 2020 Children's Book Council of Australia Book of the Year Award for Younger Readers. Pip's second middle grade novel, Are You There, Buddha? was a 2022 CBCA Notable Book and was shortlisted for the 2022 NSW Premier's Literary Awards. Pip's next middle grade novel, August & Jones, was shortlisted for the CBCA Book of the Year: Younger Readers 2023 and the 2024 YABBA Awards and won the CBCA Shadow Judging Book of the Year for Younger Readers.

About Sandy Bigna

Sandy Bigna is a passionate supporter of local children’s literature. She started up the Aussie Kids Books Instagram, which reviews Australian children’s and YA books. She has studied children’s literature at the University of Canberra and worked as a children’s librarian in a public library. She has been awarded two Varuna Residential Fellowships and her YA manuscript Exposed was shortlisted for the HarperCollins Australia Matilda Children’s Literature Prize in 2020. Little Bones is her debut novel.
