    Event description

    In a special UTS4Climate and Worldwide Support for Development event, Bob Carr speaks with Stanley Johnson about his support for climate action and his environmental advocacy. 

    Stanley Johnson is a former Conservative Party member of the European Parliament (representing Wight and Hampshire East) from 1979 to 1984.  

    He is a passionate advocate of environmental causes and climate action and is an advisor to Worldwide Support for Development, a not for profit assisting disadvantaged people in communities throughout the world. He is the author of books including The Warming (2021), Where the Wild Things Were (2012) and Survival (2010).  

    Johnson advocates for environmental protection policy within the UK Conservative party and defends the forward-leaning action on climate taken by the government of his son, Boris Johnson, UK Prime Minister since 2019.  

    Johnson is visiting Australia on behalf of Worldwide Support for Development and comes to UTS to speak with former New South Wales Premier and former Foreign Minister, Bob Carr.
