In Dialogue: Inclusive and Connected Communities
Description
What to expect
Our dialogue sessions will not follow a fixed structure or agenda. They will be gently facilitated to allow people to speak freely, listen with care, and reflect together on ideas that matter.
Themes will relate to inclusive and connected communities, but the process will evolve with those who participate. Together, we will explore difference, uncover shared meaning and strengthen relationships.
Outcomes
Participants feel heard and able to express themselves without pressure
New ideas and ways of thinking emerge in conversation
Ongoing questions and insights stay with participants
More people express interest in future dialogues
A reflective piece will be created at the end of the series, sharing themes and insights that continue the conversation
Why dialogue
In many settings, conversation becomes a performance. People present, persuade or defend their views, limiting genuine exchange. When performance pressure eases, dialogue creates space for openness, connection and mutual learning. As Nora Bateson reminds us, “There can be no community without first communing.”
