In The Studio - Ketakii Jewson-Brown and Shaye Hardisty
Ketakii and Shaye in their Nambour studio

Ketakii Jewson-Brown and Shaye Hardisty have been artistic collaborators for many years, starting their collaborative journey out of a mutual love of ethical fashion, textile art and boundary pushing imagery.

They took their love of fashion and photography to the streets of Nambour with their Instagram account, Mill Street Fashion Walk, a page dedicated to capturing the unique and diverse street fashion found there.

This led to a residency opportunity that evolved into pitching a space activation idea that led to The Sunshine Coat Project. By the exhibition phase, this project was 18 months in the making and engaged widely with the local artistic community and was the most attended exhibition for 2023 at The Old Ambulance Station Gallery.

2023 was a big year for this creative duo and post Sunshine Coat exhibition they were invited to host a runway show as part of the bienniel ‘Art in the Environment’ festival, Floating Land.

Following this, the duo, who go by the moniker, ShayeKet, exhibited “Unapologetically Dressed” with Horizon Festival in August, and finally, to round out an epic 2023 they exhibited a new body of work that featured photography, textiles, installation and video titled ‘Keep The Women Busy So They Don’t Get Too Angry’  as part of ‘Known Associates’ at Noosa Regional Gallery.

Shaye and Ketakii are dedicated, talented and creative individuals who have found in each other a person to bolster everything they do. ShayeKet create magic and are infectious in the process and exquisite in the outcome.
