    Event description

Join this virtual program to learn more about applying to the Totman Fellowship. The DC History Center offers a limited number of funded, short-term fellowships to support research on the history of Washington, DC. Applications are currently open for two Totman Fellowships: one on Black Washington and the other on LGBTQ+ DC. Each Totman Fellowship comes with an $8,000 stipend; the deadline to apply is February 2, 2024.

This In the Works program takes place online on Wednesday, January 17 for fellowship applicants wondering how to make the most of the Totman Fellowship and improve their application. We’ll answer questions about eligibility and the application process. We’ll also provide insight into outlets to research, write, and present your research, for example: publishing in Washington History magazine and presenting at the annual DC History ConferenceThis event is FREE.

This event is now taking place on Zoom to make it more accessible to attendees.
