In ugly times, how can community build something more beautiful?
Description
Inspired by the attack on respected community representative Helen Haines MP, this event asks participants: what one step - big or small - can we take in these ugly times to build something more beautiful?
The event will include:
time for participants to gather and share together
an author talk
a community design thinking activity
book signings of Simone’s 2026 political drama set during the 2001 culture wars, Eudaimania: Happiness Disease.
In the spirit of building community, participants are invited to BYO a small plate of food to share. Sealed items, or items NOT requiring refrigeration or heating, are preferred.
Hot items and beverages will also be available for sale from the onsite van at Poppyfield Commons.
