iNat Together — Introductory Outdoor Workshop in Pakapakanthi
Description
🌿 Join us for this free outdoor workshop hosted by local iNaturalist Ambassadors in partnership with Ferox australis, as part of the iNaturalist Together event! This is an introductory workshop perfect for those wanting to learn how they can help wildlife with just their smartphone, no previous experience required!
We will cover what iNaturalist is, what citizen science is any why it’s so important for wildlife, what the City of Adelaide is currently doing to improve the biodiversity of the park, as well as a mini-BioBlitz in the park to help participants practically learn how to use the app.
The talk will begin at 10:30 am on Wednesday the 23rd of September, meeting at [TBD] within Pakapakanthi, and will go for approximately 2 hours, including a 45 minute BioBlitz around the park!
You will need to bring your smartphone with the iNaturalist Classic (the icon is a white background with a green bird) app installed and a free account made before the talk begins, plenty of drinking water, snacks, and please do dress appropriately for the weather (eg sun or rain safe, enclosed shoes). As this is an outdoor talk, consider bringing a folding chair or picnic blanket to sit on if you do not wish to stand for a prolonged period.
