iNaturalist on the Go: Black Hill Conservation Park Wildflowers
Event description
Interested in learning how to identify the plants and animals in the Adelaide Hills? Or maybe you want to take the next step and become a citizen scientist?
Join the Native Orchid Society of South Australia (NOSSA) at Black Hill Conservation Park and immerse yourself in the natural environment.
Event leaders will take you on guided walks through the Wildflower Garden and further into the park. Their one-on-one help and extensive knowledge of the iNaturalist program, will develop your identification and reporting skills, teaching you the ins-and-outs of data collection which can help contribute to our understanding of the environment we live in.
Resources will be provided to help you continue your journey after the event in your own backyard and beyond.
WHAT TO BRING
Please be aware of the weather and environment and dress accordingly. Things to bring include:
- Hat and sunscreen
- Appropriate clothing and enclosed hiking/walking shoes
- Snacks
- Personal medication
- A charged phone
- Plant and Animal identification books (if you have one you would like to bring)
EVENT CANCELLATIONS
In the case of park closure due to fire danger or other hazardous weather events, the walks will be cancelled, and you will be notified via Humanitix.
