Inaugural Halloween Pumpkin Contest

Celebrate Halloween and support the Library at Tucker’s Ice Cream’s inaugural Halloween Pumpkin Contest, beginning at noon on Saturday, October 24 and continuing through Sunday, October 25. Teams, families, local businesses and individuals are invited to enter their most creative decorated pumpkins. A $25 entry fee includes Tucker’s swag, an ice cream coupon, goodies from the Library and Books For Friends and eligibility for the Judge’s Award for Best Pumpkin and the People’s Choice Award. All proceeds benefit Friends of the Alameda Free Library. Entry forms are available at Tucker’s Ice Cream, and Friends of the Alameda Free Library and Library representatives will be on hand throughout the weekend.

The festivities also include a family storytime on Saturday, October 24, from 3 to 4 pm. Books For Friends will hold a pop-up used book sale on Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25, from 1 to 7 pm. On Sunday, October 25, from 1 to 7 pm, the Library will offer library card sign-ups and information at its table.
