    This workshop will guide you through the requirements for NDIS Providers relevant to reportable incident response and management, and best practice in incident investigations, including defensible documentation.

    In this workshop you will gain an understanding of:

    • What is and is not a reportable incident.
    • How do organisations ensure systems are in place to identify, respond to, and notify reportable incidents.
    • Incident investigation – best practice techniques and documentation to demonstrate effective incident management.
    • Defensible documentation - the importance of good quality information and how to support staff to produce quality documentation to inform incident management processes.
    • Quality and systems improvement – how to put in place processes that prevent recurrence when an incident has occurred.
    • Case study – looking at an incident and working through how to respond.

    About your host - Amy Ambagtsheer

    Amy is passionate about addressing issues of behaviour support, abuse, neglect and discrimination for vulnerable people. She has extensive experience in incident investigation, risk management and NDIS compliance, and has worked at a senior level in disability organisations, State and Commonwealth Governments. Amy’s work as a Behaviour Support Practitioner provides added insights into the importance of safe and quality supports for people with disability.
