Free Short Film Hackathon for People with Disability
Event description
Learn how to make a short film using your smartphone. Sign up for our fun, FREE, short film workshop for people with disability!
Working in small groups with mentors from The Story Mill, you'll make a short film about inclusion and disability pride in just 48 hours.
No experience needed - your mentors will help you with every step!
Day 1 – Saturday 1 November 2025, 10am–4pm.
Plan your story and draw a storyboard
Film using your smartphone to record sound and video
Day 2 – Sunday 2 November 2025, 10am–4pm.
Edit your film with your mentors, and add colour and music
Watch your films back on the big screen!
The films you create will also be shown at a red-carpet event at Marrickville Library on the International Day of People with Disability, 3 December 2025!
Workshop details
When: 1 to 2 November 10am–4pm.
Where: Haberfield Library
Who: People with disability, aged 14 and over.
What to bring: A smartphone, a charger, and a packed lunch (There will be a fridge available).
Cost: Free!
