About the event: 
Inclusion in year level curriculum for students with disability leads to increased confidence, better academic progress and social belonging. The Australian Curriculum is a curriculum for all learners, and students with disability have the right to participate in learning ‘on the same basis as their peers’.

Join our free online workshop to learn what inclusive classroom learning looks like and what strategies lead to positive outcomes for students with disability. Gain skills that will help you to confidently contribute to conversations on classroom learning with your child’s school.


This workshop will cover:

  • What a day in an inclusive classroom looks like

  • The importance of presuming competence

  • Inclusive teaching strategies to maximise participation and achievement -UDL, peer learning and more!

  • What to advocate for and how to advocate for it

  • Tips for achieving a successful partnership with school


This free online workshop will be delivered by CRU facilitators passionate about inclusive education and experienced in advocating for inclusion.

Who Should Attend?
  • Parents and carers of school-aged children (Prep to Year 12) with disability.

  • Parents and carers of younger children who are starting to think about/ prepare for the school years are also most welcome to attend.


Learning Objectives

  • Improved understanding of what inclusive classroom learning looks like.

  • Increased knowledge of key strategies that lead to positive outcomes for students with disability.

  • Improved confidence with contributing to conversations with school staff on classroom learning for your child.

What do I need to participate?

CRU will be using Zoom meetings as a platform. To participate you will need:

  • a computer, tablet or smart phone with internet access 
    speakers/sound

  • a microphone and video camera are not essential but will be helpful for your participation

  • RSVP Thursday 4th September

  • This workshop will be held via a Zoom Session and log-in details will be sent to participants who register a few days prior to the event

  • Log-in will be available 15 minutes prior to each event commencing
