FREE Inclusive Volunteering Workshops information – hosted by EV Strengthening Communities on behalf of the Volunteer Management Activity program – Eastern metro region
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS AN IN PERSON ONLY WORKSHOP (online workshops TBC soon)
Workshop 1 will take participants through a series of 3 interactive modules:
Module 1: Introduction to becoming an inclusive workplace for volunteers.
This module will allow participants to:
● Gain an understanding of the spectrum of disabilities and the competencies and strengths people can bring.
● Begin to assess what changes they may need to make in their workplace to be inclusive.
Module 2: Preparing for an Inclusive Workplace
Completing this module participants will:
● Understand what an inclusive workplace looks like and be able to identify broadly what needs to change in their business.
● Be able to articulate the types of disabilities which lend themselves to the work / vacancies they have.
Module 3: Actioning Your Inclusive Workplace
Participants will commence preparing their Disability Volunteering Action Plan and map out:
- The supports they can access
- Opportunities they can offer
- Supports required for those opportunities
- Extending your opportunities to other groups who are excluded.
By the end of the workshop participants will come away with:
- 1. Their draft Volunteering Inclusion Plan
- 2. Opportunities scoped for volunteers
They will then test their plan with their organisation and spend time developing:
- Role descriptions
- Marketing plan for opportunities
- Workforce training plan
Workshop 2 (3 hours in duration - date & time TBC at first workshop): Please note Workshop 2 can only be attended by those who have completed Workshop 1 in full.
Participants will present their finalised Inclusive Volunteering plan, marketing plan and workforce training plan to their colleagues.
