    Event description

Join this free information session to find out more about running inclusive entrepreneurial education programs in your school.

Entrepreneurial education needs to be accessible to all young people regardless of age, ethnicity, background and ability. Entrepreneurial education empowers young people with the mindset, skillset, and toolset to make a difference in their community and their lives. An entrepreneurial mindset elevates student potential by teaching them to become flexible, adaptable and communicate better. They persist in spite of failure, turning problems into opportunities. We have seen time and time again how youth who feel disadvantaged and/or removed from regular society, flourish in these settings and feel a sense of joy that they can contribute and positively improve the lives of themselves and others.

Young Change Agents has co-designed an entrepreneurial program for youth with seen and unseen disabilities with special education specialists. Eight programs have been facilitated with special education students and students disengaged from traditional schooling models. We have seen educators build their relationships and understanding of their students, seeing them in a different light, understanding their passions, community interests and seeing them flourish in a different setting.

This program can be run in Specialist Schools and mainstream schools with Diversity and Inclusion streams across Australia. This helps entrepreneurial education to be offered in a tailored way for students with seen and unseen disabilities to realise their own ambitions and goals using the vehicle of social entrepreneurship.

    About Young Change Agents

Young Change Agents is a not-for-profit social enterprise that specialises in helping youth develop their enterprising skills, such as innovative, critical and creative thinking, using initiative, being adaptable, problem solving and decision making skills, as well as communication and collaboration. Our mission is to reach every young Australian to help them see problems as opportunities through the vehicle of social enterprise. We do this through school workshops and entrepreneurial education development in the form of professional development workshops, national un-conferences and technology which enables access to all.
