Event description

In a changing global industry, the role of an artist manager has been impacted perhaps more than any other role in the business. As record companies become less and less present and relevant - the manager has stepped in to take on label services, marketing, release strategy and A&R roles. As artist's look for alternative sources of income - managers have become more entrepreneurial - becoming fluent in everything from branding partnerships, community management and philanthropic donations.

How has the role changed? What is the implication for the fee structure - which has not changed significantly? How are managers surviving all this?  Should you still even consider being an artist manager?  These are some of the topics we will cover off in this session.
The session will feature Niriko McLure, an artist manager based in Sydney. Niriko has worked with a myriad of artists including clients 5 Seconds of Summer and Matt Corby when she was at Wonder Music, project managed Dean Lewis and Gang of Youths, to curating her own roster of impeccable talent at Third Person Management including Egoism, Jarryd James and Maddy Jane.

Niriko is a dedicated and passionate member of the management and music industry and her insight and wisdom in this space should not be missed.
If you are working in an artist management role, or considering getting a manager soon, this panel is for you.
