Event description
This conference brings together Indigenous scholars, creatives and allies to showcase Indigenous studies scholarship, knowledges and creative practices that addresses questions of truth-telling and story-telling in the post-Voice era.
Across three sessions exploring the changing dynamics of Australian literature, public histories and truth-telling, and the challenges of decolonising education systems, we will consider questions such as:
- How can we reveal and reckon with the truth of Australia’s past?
- How can institutions respond to demands to grapple with the past and envision Indigenised futures?
- How can research and creative practice address key challenges facing Indigenous communities today, and promote solidarity and justice?
This conference is interdisciplinary and attendance is open to all scholars working in Indigenous studies and associated disciplines
