Indigenous-Led Conservation in Australia: Scaling Climate and Nature Solutions
Description
What can Australian Indigenous-led approaches to caring for unique environmental landscapes teach us about building climate resilience?
Join Bush Heritage Australia and Karrkad Kanjdji Trust (KKT) for a conversation about the power of Indigenous knowledge, leadership and stewardship. From cultural fire management to landscape-scale conservation, Indigenous peoples across Australia are demonstrating approaches to caring for Country that draw on thousands of years of knowledge alongside contemporary science and conservation practice. These approaches are delivering measurable results and offering important lessons for how we think about climate and nature solutions.
Together we will explore what it takes to support and scale Indigenous-led conservation, the role of partnerships and philanthropy in making that possible, and how we can move from recognizing the value of Indigenous stewardship to mobilizing the resources needed to sustain and expand it.
Come for a thought-provoking conversation and stay for the opportunity to connect with leaders and others who are working to shape a more resilient future for people and nature.
