Event description

This Mental Health March we'd like to invite the Indigenous Women of the UNSW community to a Weaving circle and healing ceremony.

As apart of Mental Health March this event focuses on coming together as a community to focus on healing and connecting with each other and our culture.

Practised for centuries weaving is a valued custom of Indigenous culture. Through a workshop, the event will allow each person to create a small basket and partake in a women’s healing ceremony.

Weaving circle and healing ceremony event for Indigenous female-identifying students and staff at UNSW.

Events such as this are important for mob to get involved in especially at times when we are all so disconnected. This event has limited capacity therefore if you cannot make it, there may be opportunities down the line for other workshops.

This event is brought to you as part of UNSW's Mental Health March Check out the program for other events you may be interested in.

Mental Health March is created by UNSW Health Promotions Unit and aims to encourage the UNSW community to engage in conversations surrounding the often challenging topics of mental health and wellbeing. The team offer workshops, resources and mental health services to all UNSW Students and Staff.

If you or someone you know needs some support with their mental health, you can contact the Psychology and Wellness team via Mental Health Connect.
