This season, Opsis Designs invites you into the world of Goodwill, the maison behind the world’s most coveted Christmas decorations. Found in Harrods and adorning only the most prestigious addresses — from The Ritz Paris and Hotel de Crillon to Cheval Blanc Courchevel and the Royal Mansour Marrakech — Goodwill defines festive artistry at the highest level.

This October, we offer our clients an experience unlike any other. From 8–15 October, we welcome Darren McKay — Goodwill’s in-house designer and the creative force behind the Heart by Goodwill collection — exclusively to our store.

Through a series of intimate workshops, Darren will share the savoir-faire of Christmas styling: the rhythm of ornament placement, the drape of ribbons, the art of garlands. A rare opportunity to learn directly from Goodwill’s own hand.

This is an industry and networking event for Opsis' trade partners. It will be a wonderful opportunity to learn some tips from one of the world's leaders in decorating, as well as an opportunity to visit Opsis Designs and see our furniture offerings. Light refreshments will also be served.

For those seeking the ultimate expression of luxury, Darren will also be available to design and install a select number of Goodwill Christmas trees directly within private homes in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs — a truly bespoke service.

This is a free event; however, we do require registration to limit numbers so that the event can be enjoyable for everyone.

While this is an industry event, we will also be hosting the workshops below to the public for $200 (redeemable against decorations). We include these details in the event it is of interest to any of your friends or clients.

Option 1 — Individual Workshop

Join Darren McKay for an intimate 1.5-hour workshop designed for individuals or small groups of friends. Priced at $200 per person, the full amount is redeemable towards decorations purchased on the day.

During the session, Darren will share his artistry and expertise—demonstrating how to style a Christmas tree and garland, tie elegant ribbons, attach ornaments, and elevate festive décor with professional techniques. He will also be available to answer your personal styling questions.

Light refreshments will be served, making this a truly inspiring and enjoyable.

Option 2 — Private Group Event

Enjoy the magic of Darren’s workshop as a private event for your friends. This option mirrors the individual workshop but is exclusively reserved for your group, creating a festive and social occasion.

We recommend up to 15 guests (with a maximum of 20). To secure your booking, please register for 15 guests and contact us to confirm final numbers. The workshop fee is fully redeemable for decorations, and the host may choose whether the credit is applied individually or collectively.

Option 3 — Darren in Your Home

For a truly exceptional experience, Darren will personally come to your home in the Eastern Suburbs and decorate your Christmas tree from start to finish. This exclusive service transforms your home into a festive masterpiece styled by one of Europe’s most renowned Christmas decorators.

• Tree styling only: Approximately 2.5 hours with Darren and his assistants.

• Tree styling with mini-workshop: Around 4 hours, where Darren will also share techniques and styling tips with your guests.
