Event description

In this intermediate knitting workshop you will be knitting a sample piece in the “Ingenious Short Row Knitting Technique”. We will concentrate entirely on learning the basic techniques and basic concepts of this interesting style of knitting short rows. You will be learning to create unique, individual and non-copyable knitting designs in a playful way. You will not follow written knitting instructions, instead you will define a general rule, the “Genetic Code”, and then relax and surrender to the rhythm of knitting short rows.

The only knitting knowledge for taking part in this workshop is that you are able to knit both purl and knit stitches.

Material to bring: Plain 8ply or DK wool in 3 or 4 different colours, that create a clear stitch image. Avoid dark colours like black, dark blues, browns and greens. Start a piece of knitting by casting on 50 stitches on a circular knitting needle and knit a few garter stitch rows. Please bring this to the class. Silver and black safety pins, 30 each would be enough for the beginning. Scissors, darning needle.

Morning tea provided.
