More about Norton Fredericks and Chris Jordan

Norton Fredericks (they/he) is a Murri visual artist living and working on Kombumerri Country. Their work is at the intersection of science and art, exploring the dialogue between environmental sustainability, queer ecologies and First Nations knowledges. Investigating these themes through research and practice-based artwork Norton explores historical and ancient techniques in a contemporary way that is often site specific, responding to place and Country.

Chef and owner of Brisbane-based food events and products company Three Little Birds, Chris Jordan, connects with his First Nations ancestry through cooking with native ingredients. Alongside his business, he has held collaborative, pop-up dinners that grapple conceptually and gastronomically with Indigenous food sovereignty, cultural dispossession and climate change. Three Little Birds collaborates with Kuppibunda Kitchen to provide education and opportunities to young people in detention.
