Inner Development & Sustainability
Event description
What is Inner Development and can it help us to meet the challenges we face?
The Inner Development Goals (IDG) framework was developed as a complementary framework to the UN’s ‘Transforming Our World - 2030 Sustainable Development Goals’ (SDGs), in order to develop people’s inner capacity to deal with the increasingly complex challenges and barriers to building a sustainable world by 2030… and beyond.
The Australia Inner Development Goals initiative will bring a special guest Thomas Hübl, and Inner Development Goals leadership representative Daniel Hires and Fredrik Lindencrona, IDG Head of Research, connecting online. In hosting the hybrid gathering, IDG Higher Education Circle Lead Vivianna Rodriguez Carreon brings together in person Australian-based individual founders and organisations contextualising IDGs in Australia to co-create the IDGs Australia Hub.
In activating and being nourished by reciprocity with Country, paying respects to ancestral and contemporary Earth Stewards the world over, Alalouie, Alana Marsh, e-connect us in Regenerative System Re-setting and Wayapa Wuurrk.
Who is invited to attend?
Academics and practitioners from NGOs, government, foundations, and private businesses who are seeking to rally to the challenge of creating a culture of sustainability within their organisations.
To bring ‘alive’ these concepts that support the inner changes necessary to foster systemic sustainability, a series of experiential learning activities and practices, led by IDG facilitators, will follow.
Together we will:
(1) Experience some of the inner development skills and practices that support the changes we are seeking to create in the world
(2) Consider how the IDGs can support us in our Australian context and
(3) Initiate a community of practice of people interested in learning about, adapting and supporting the uptake of the IDGs in our own unique contexts.
Where will the event be held?
This hybrid event will be hosted by PACS6921 Peace of Mind and Peace in the World Unit of Study, School of Social and Political Science at the University of Sydney, in collaboration with Australian-based individuals and organisations contextualising IDGs in Australia.
Join us in co-creating this Inner Development and Sustainability global movement in Australia!
About the IDGs
In 2015, the UN Sustainable Development Goals provided us with a comprehensive plan for a sustainable world by 2030. However, progress is not happening fast enough.
There is an urgent need to increase our collective abilities to face and effectively work with complex challenges. This is why we, as a part of a self-organising global community, are co-creating the Inner Development Goals (IDGs) - a blueprint of the capabilities, qualities and skills that are needed to achieve the 17 SDGs that can transform our world.
The Inner Development Goals is a non-profit, open-source organisation to help us develop the collective inner skills and qualities needed to overcome our global challenges and move towards a thriving world.
