Food & Beverage
We are here to nourish your ears and your belly! Pull up a bolster or cushion, enjoy a soul-bowl, and possibly make a new friend to share the evening with. Claire's creativity in the kitchen will be a simple vegan, gluten-free curry that will hopefully tick the boxes for most guests. If you have other dietary needs please feel welcome to BYO bowl of food. There won't be space for a complete picnic spread, so please keep it simple (and not too messy) if you BYO. Please note our venue is a 'Conscious-Creative' Alcohol-Free space. Any other BYO beverages that won't stain our historic raw-timber floors are welcome.
Feature Poet, Claire Pianta, takes the mic!
The creative powerhouse behind Common Earth Studio, Claire Pianta, is opening her journal and stepping up to the mic for the first time to share a recent period of prolific poetic writing as alchemy on her healing journey. Her languaging style sweeps from introspective and somatic to empowering and sometimes a touch of dark comedy. She draws wisdom from the darkness and pulls you forward into the light.
Feature Musicians Shon Boublil, Pavan Kumar Hari & Nowar Koning enchant us with their musical improv!
All three of these magical men of instrumental music are at their absolute finest in the spirit of collaboration and togetherness that comes from exploring the expansiveness of the improvisation space. Pure magic will be sparked!...so don't miss it! Please take a peek at our socials for more of an insight into who these artists are musically.Â

Poetry Popcorn!
All sweet, spicy, savory, and sour self-expression is welcome! Do your poetry popcorn your way...
We invite you to be embraced in a wholesome, safe, and supportive container to share your poetry with a deep-listening audience on standby, ready to celebrate the strength of your vulnerability and humanness!Â
Poetry Popcorn is less Poetry Slam...more Poetry Jam!
I can already hear fingers clicking in spontaneous and impassioned responses to your expression!Â
We invite you to share your interpretation of the theme of 'Healing & Growth' through either your original poetry or reading from one of your favorite poets. If your poem needs to be sung or rapped to be delivered in whole essence, that is most welcome and celebrated! We ask that you keep your sharing under 3 minutes to allow space for other members of our creative community to also be witnessed in their expression.
18+ Event
Due to the unknown nature of content shared in the Poetry Popcorn portion of the evening, we feel the pull to create this safe container as an adults-only space.Â
We ask for all 'trigger warning' content to be announced upon taking the microphone, empowering our audience to stay and witness or step out of the room for your 3-minute timeslot.
Acknowledgments...
1. To Audience
Although there is an invitation to participate in this community-spirited event by sharing your poetry, we would also like to affirm that Active Listeners (Audience) play a vital role. Calling forth all 'humming-bird-humans' in need of drinking in some word nectar to feel the soul-sweetness of having their thirst for creative expression quenched! Active participation as a member of a deep-listening audience is vital for our poets being witnessed in their overflow of passionate prose. Please do not underestimate the conscious co-creation your cochlea provides to both our feature artists and contributing poets.
2. To Land and Custodians
We would humbly like to offer our acknowledgment that this safe, creative container is being hosted in a colonial building on Nyoongar Boojar, on the banks of the Derbal Yarrigan, on a day designated by the Australian Government as an official celebration of European settlement, on land that was and will always be in the custodianship of the Whadjuk people, the original caretakers of these sacred lands and waters. This Event is offered in the spirit of collaboration, healing, and growth. May all of our voices be heard and our collective creative expression be received as valid, in the spirit that this event was created in, to come together to have a yarn and tell our stories of healing and growth and make music in the spirit of togetherness.
